A Trip to Vogan

Last week I made a trip to the town of Vogan with Mike and our friend Bruno. Vogan is about an hour and a half from where we live outside Lomé. We went to visit a Ghanaian pastor friend of Mike and Lynn, Pastor Hammer, who lives there. While we were there we saw the church, school and medical center he runs, a German-run agricultural and fish farming center and the local market.

Below are pictures from each part of this trip, including some pictures from the road! The market pictures are a bit out of order, but I tried to put pictures of the same things together.

Pastor Hammer’s work and animals:

Straight ahead used to be the road…now people have to drive around to the left. Road conditions aren’t great in this area.

Like I said, road conditions weren’t great. We did pass some guys filling potholes with dirt to make a little money from drivers passing by and grateful for their work.

How much can we fit on this one truck? Still not quite as impressive as some of the loads you find in/on taxis or moto taxis.
